The North Police Region is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which are further divided into 12 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

The position is a summer temporary position during the period from June to August, starting as agreed. There may be a possibility of extension for hours after this period.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of service man, you will work independently with a wide range of tasks, both practical and administrative. You will handle office services such as mail and goods management, purchasing of goods and services, ordering and replenishing materials, and managing access cards. The job also includes car washing and basic vehicle maintenance.

There may also be tasks such as local service and assisting with minor relocations, assembly, setting up furniture, bulletin boards, and locks, minor repairs, and other common janitorial tasks.

The work involves varied tasks and can be both fast-paced and physically demanding in terms of heavy lifting. You who apply should be prepared to assist with many different tasks throughout the police area. Since we are responsible for the premises throughout the police area, travel within the county is relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
  • Driver's license (B) for manual transmission
  • Good physical condition as the work can be physically demanding and heavy lifting is involved

It is a merit if you also have:

  • Are a police student
  • Current experience of working in a service function that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • Current experience of working as a janitor, property manager, or equivalent tasks according to the employer
  • Experience with basic vehicle maintenance such as washing cars and replenishing windshield washer fluid

Personal Qualities

As an employee, you are the face of the police and are expected to work with commitment, availability, and efficiency. Since the job is a service function and involves close contact with other parts of the organization, it is required that you are communicative, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. Since the tasks may vary and the pace of work fluctuates, we believe you are a person who thrives and is driven by this, and has a flexible approach. You also need to be responsible and self-driven as a person.
